Student Wellbeing at Tuggerawong Public School

At Tuggerawong Public School, student wellbeing is embedded in everyday practice. We support the cognitive, emotional, social, physical and spiritual development of every student through a whole-school approach that draws on the strengths of our staff, families, and community.

Our wellbeing framework includes:

We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school. PBL provides a consistent, school-wide approach to behaviour that helps students understand expectations, take ownership of their actions, and contribute to a safe and productive learning environment. Our core values, Respectful, Responsible and Personal Best, guide all interactions and decisions across the school.

Attendance is a vital part of student wellbeing and success. We encourage every child to attend school every day, as consistent attendance supports learning progress, builds confidence, and strengthens social connections. Families play an important role in promoting regular attendance, and we work in partnership to ensure students are present, engaged, and thriving.

When families join Tuggerawong, they become partners in supporting student wellbeing, behaviour, and attendance. Together, we create a learning culture where students build self-awareness, develop positive relationships, and feel supported to succeed.

PBL Rewards

PBL rewards are presented each term to recognise students who show dedication to their learning and consistently demonstrate our core values of being Respectful, Responsible, and striving for their Personal Best. These rewards celebrate positive behaviour and achievement, encouraging students to continue aiming high and fostering a culture of success across our school.

Attendance

Attendance matters at TPS. Weekly and termly attendance is celebrated through a variety of rewards and incentives, recognising students who show commitment to being at school every day. By highlighting the importance of regular attendance, we encourage all learners to stay engaged, build strong learning habits, and contribute to a positive school culture where success is achieved together.
